Students participating in a FORE Thrive school outreach activity

FORE Thrive brings professional counselling expertise directly to schools. The programme combines two sustainable pillars: building capacity within existing staff and delivering preventive education to students, parents and the wider school community.

Mental health starts in the classroom.
01

Capacity building for in-house counsellors

Interactive, skills-based training uses real-world cases and role-plays so counsellors, teachers and designated staff leave equipped and confident.

  • Foundations of mental health in educational settings
  • CBT and motivational interviewing techniques
  • Early identification and intervention
  • Substance-use prevention and intervention
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Crisis intervention and suicide prevention
  • Case management and documentation
  • Ongoing supervision and professional development
02

Preventive education and community building

Prevention creates lasting change by giving the whole school community knowledge, confidence and practical ways to respond.

  • Student workshops on awareness, stress and healthy coping
  • Interactive substance-use prevention through drama, art and peer discussion
  • Parent seminars on supporting student mental health
  • Teacher training on recognising and responding to concerns
  • Peer-support networks and mental-health advocacy groups
03

Professional development that is recognised

Participants who complete the training receive a certificate of completion and continuing education credits, recognising their professional growth and practical competence.
